That "$99 whole-house special" is a bait ad - the real number appears once they are in your hallway, or the "clean" is a shop-vac at the register. We photograph the inside of your ducts before and after instead.

Rotobrush Vent Sanitizing: The Houston Owner’s Guide

If your Rotobrush vent sanitizing head has stopped fogging or the hose has cracked, we stock the replacement parts on our trucks and can usually swap them the same week. Installed pricing for Rotobrush vent sanitizing components in Houston runs about $85 to $220 depending on whether it’s just a nozzle, a hose assembly, or the full fogger head. Most owners discover the failure mid-job, when the sanitizer stops atomizing properly and starts dripping instead of misting.

Vent sanitizing is the step that makes the whole job smell clean afterward, not just look clean. When that part fails, you feel it immediately. The sanitizer pools at the register instead of traveling through the duct run. Paul Adeyemi has pulled apart dozens of these fogger heads in Houston homes, and the failure pattern is almost always the same: a clogged or cracked nozzle, then a dried-out O-ring that lets pressure bleed past, then air instead of sanitizer.

Which Rotobrush Models This Applies To

Rotobrush has shipped a few generations of sanitizing hardware, and the part numbers are not always obvious on the housing. The current fogger assemblies used with the AiR+ and the older RotoSweep series take different hose diameters, so before you order anything, check the stamped number on the brass nozzle body and measure the inside diameter of the air hose fitting. The AiR+ fogger uses a 3/8-inch quick-connect. The older units we still see around Houston are typically 1/4-inch threaded.

You have two honest choices here. OEM Rotobrush parts carry the brand warranty and match the machine exactly, but they cost more and sometimes sit on backorder for two weeks. Quality aftermarket nozzles and hoses from manufacturers like Nikro and Guardsman fit the same mounting points and hold up just as well in our experience, usually at 30 to 40 percent less. We keep both on hand and will tell you which one makes sense for your machine rather than pushing the pricier option. Mortons Air Duct Houston is an independent service provider, so we’re free to recommend the part that actually fits your budget and your workflow, not just what a distributor tells us to sell.

Signs Your Rotobrush Vent Sanitizing Is Failing

  • Sanitizer dripping instead of misting. This is almost always a partially clogged nozzle tip or a cracked O-ring behind it. The pump pressurizes fine, but the fog never forms.
  • Weak or uneven coverage at the register. When the fogger head isn’t seating properly in the duct opening, product escapes around the seal instead of flowing through the run. Look for a flattened or hardened rubber collar.
  • Hissing sound at the connection point. That hiss is air leaking from a cracked hose barb or a split in the braided line. You’re losing pressure before the sanitizer ever atomizes.
  • Fogger head overheating during long runs. Houston’s humidity shortens the life of the internal seals. If the head feels hotter than normal at the metal fitting, the motor seal has likely degraded and is dragging.
  • Sanitizer odor much weaker than previous jobs. Your nose is the best diagnostic tool you own. A noticeable drop in scent concentration usually means the metering valve is partly clogged with dried product.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Houston homeowners and contractors typically pay when we replace Rotobrush vent sanitizing components:

  • Nozzle-only replacement: $85 to $120 installed
  • Hose and fitting replacement: $110 to $160 installed
  • Full fogger head assembly: $170 to $220 installed

The range depends on whether we’re using OEM Rotobrush or a quality equivalent from Nikro or Guardsman, and whether your existing hose is re-usable. Every quote is a written flat price before we unscrew a single fitting. Labor is included in those numbers, not added on after the fact. We test the fog pattern before we leave and run a short burst through a register so you can see the mist quality yourself. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise, which applies to parts and installation alike.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things yourself: whether the nozzle tip is visibly clogged, whether the hose has cracks near the fittings, and whether the rubber collar has hardened. If the nozzle is just gunked up, a soak in warm water and a gentle nylon brush sometimes clears it. Do not use metal picks or drill bits to clean the orifice, and do not crank down on a stuck brass fitting with channel locks. That’s how you strip the threads inside the fogger body and turn a $90 fix into a $200 replacement.

If the hissing is coming from inside the head housing or the motor is running hot, leave it alone. Compressed air and worn electrical components don’t mix, and an overheated fogger head can fail without warning mid-run. Call us at (940) 314-5008 and we’ll bring the right replacement with us. You’ll know the price before we start, and we’ll show you the old part next to the new one when we’re done.
